Things That I Love
April 17, 2008
Pamela Craig, owner of Things That I Love, absolutely adores accessories.
“My whole life my friends have called me the accessories queen,” she said.
So at her store, which opened at 121 Clay Avenue in February, you will find no clothing but loads of fashionable accents including Kenneth Jay Lane jewelry, Olivia Rose Tal shoes and fun, colorful umbrellas (a big hit during the recent soggy weather).
Elegant hats include designs by Frank Olive and Louise Green. And Craig tries to keep just one or two of each piece so when you buy that bag or necklace, “you won’t see yourself coming and going.”
Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

While I grew up in small-town Kentucky I’ve always been fascinated with the cosmopolitan world of high fashion. On the other hand, I love a bargain and the thrill of shopping for just the right piece.
I have a degree in English from the University of Kentucky, and since 2002 I’ve written a column for the Lexington Herald-Leader about shopping, beauty and fashion. During that time I’ve interviewed everyone from designers to boutique owners about trends and style. And I’m still forever searching for the next big sale.
