Shop at the horse show
July 3, 2008
Ah, the tradition of the Lexington Junior League Horse Show at The Red Mile: a top-notch Saddlebred competition from Monday through July 12, visitors from all over the world — and shopping.
The Gaited Gallery, a collection of more than 40 vendors (AJ’s Casuals, Voce and Parisienne, to name a few), will be open each night of the show, from about 6 p.m. until close (about 10 p.m.). Entry to the gallery is included in general admission: $5 weeknights, $8 Friday and Saturday.
Merchandise will include jewelry, accessories, equestrian gear, shoes, and clothing for women, men and children.

While I grew up in small-town Kentucky I’ve always been fascinated with the cosmopolitan world of high fashion. On the other hand, I love a bargain and the thrill of shopping for just the right piece.
I have a degree in English from the University of Kentucky, and since 2002 I’ve written a column for the Lexington Herald-Leader about shopping, beauty and fashion. During that time I’ve interviewed everyone from designers to boutique owners about trends and style. And I’m still forever searching for the next big sale.
